  • St. John’s School is a ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Our students learn about the world and the people in it. They also learn about and develop a relationship with the God who made all things. St. John’s students recognize and celebrate the presence of God and His handiwork in every day, every class and every person.

  • St. John’s Lutheran School is located on the campus of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grand Haven, at the intersection of Taylor and Hillcrest. Our school occupies a wing of the church, with its own secured entrance and playground.

  • St. John’s Lutheran School offers preschool for children ages 3-4, along with kindergarten, elementary and middle school education (K-8). We also offer childcare before and after school. You can learn more about each of these options on our Enrollment pages.

  • We provide a Christian education within the framework of the Lutheran faith. Our students develop a personal knowledge of and relationship with God as they explore the world, interact with teachers, and serve each other. They also grow in their faith through participation in weekly chapel services. The pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church leads the worship, and students take an active role, with singing, reading and prayers.

  • We welcome students and families of any faith background. You don’t have to be Lutheran to attend St. John’s Lutheran School! In a typical year, roughly one-third of our student body is Lutheran. The rest come from non-denominational, Reformed, Presbyterian, Wesleyan and other faith backgrounds. We welcome students from Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, Muskegon, Coopersville, West Olive, and any of our surrounding community.

  • Our admissions process is very simple. Choose the appropriate page from the Enrollment menu to complete the forms online, or stop by the school to obtain paper copies. In a perfect world, your child will begin the fall semester at St. John’s Lutheran School. However, we are always ready to welcome new students in any grade, at any time.
